Day 11 – Shooting at Lake Bagoria – September 3rd – Shoot Day 8

There were not any massive amounts of Flamingos at Lake Nakuru due to very high water levels. We were told that the Flamingos had moved to Lake Bogoria, so we packed our gear and made our way that direction. It was about a 4 hour drive over to the lake. We were told there were about 350,000 flamingos on the lake. Yes, there were many, but they were scattered all over the lake. We located the closest concentration of birds and began to shoot. Later, we moved to another location and shot there as well. Overall, I would count the outing as a success even though there were a fewer number of birds and we had no choice to shoot in the middle of the day with not so good light. We had a box lunch in the field.

Upon completion of shooting, we drove back to our lodge. Lion Hill Resort was very nice and the food was incredible. I highly recommend this resort although, if you want to shoot flamingos, I would verify that they are there.

I had yet another massage with Ruth since we drove a combined 8 hours today.

Dinner at 7:30pm.
